Southland Studios, Inc. will be a major motion picture studio located on 150 acres of land. It will be located in Southeastern North Carolina and make a huge impact on the area. The studio will consist of seven sound stages, three backlots, and all support services. The studio will be a state of the art complex and have services not offered anywhere in the United States.

Why North Carolina?
|
|
It just happened that way. A majority of filmmakers have found Los Angeles and New York economically unfriendly areas in which to produce and film their projects but, until relatively recently, no viable alternatives existed.
In addition to the motion picture infrastructure, North Carolina offers the filmmaker government cooperation. The State strongly recognizes the effect that the film industry has had on the State's economy and has taken steps to not only ensure that the industry continues, but grows and florishes as well.

The Motion Picture Studio Complex
|
A studio complex in our sense, is a comprehensive inclusive facility structured to accomodate the complete filmmaking process on a large scale. It is somewhat like a factory in that its primary purpose is to produce films for the motion picture industry, theatrical, television, video and foreign markets, in addition to finding and developing talent for all areas of the filmmaking process. It seems only natural that a complex such as Southland be the next step for North Carolina, a state that has consistently been recognized as one of the top filmmaking centers in the United States.
